The useful ones do four things: evaluate your profile honestly, build a university shortlist tied to what you want after the degree, help you write an SOP and gather documents that hold up, and get the visa and finances right. The less useful ones forward your file to whichever university pays them the highest commission. The difference shows up two years later, not at signup.
It depends on how long you can commit, what you can spend, and what you want to do afterwards. A one-year Master's and a fast start points at the UK or Ireland. Lowest total cost points at Germany or France. A long technical degree with a strong work window points at the USA. A clear post-study route with two-year study points at Canada or Australia. Roughly ₹15–25 lakh for a two-year Master's in Germany, ₹25–40 lakh for a one-year Master's in the UK or Ireland, ₹25–50 lakh for Canada, ₹35–60 lakh for Australia, and ₹45–90 lakh for a two-year MS in the USA. Usually yes. IELTS Academic and PTE Academic are the standard tests, TOEFL is widely accepted for the USA, and a few universities accept a Medium of Instruction letter in narrow cases. The country visa rule and the university rule can differ, and the stricter of the two is the one that binds.
Eight to twelve months before the intake for the USA and France, six to ten for the UK, Canada and Ireland, six to nine for Australia. Germany runs on the APS certificate, which needs starting even earlier. Scholarship deadlines almost always sit ahead of admission deadlines, which is the most common thing students miss.
