Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Margam is a study abroad mentorship practice run by Jeevithram Mamidala from an office in Hanamkonda, Warangal. This policy covers yourmargam.com and the tools hosted on it. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how you get it deleted.

Our AI assistant at ai.yourmargam.com runs on separate infrastructure. Where this policy applies to it, we say so. Using the website means you accept what is written here. If you are not comfortable with any of it, the honest answer is not to submit your details, and you can still email or call us instead.

2. Information We Collect

We collect three kinds of information. The first is what you type in yourself.

Contact form. Your name and email are required. Phone number and message are optional. We store all four.

Free tools. The education loan EMI calculator asks for your name and email before it shows your results. Phone number is optional and the calculator works without it. Along with those details we save the loan figures you had set at that moment, meaning the amount, interest rate, repayment period, and moratorium if you switched it on. We save those figures so that when we follow up we already know what you were pricing and do not have to make you repeat it.

AI assistant. Whatever you type into the chat is sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Do not paste passport numbers, financial statements, or anything else you would not put in an ordinary email.

The second kind is collected automatically when you load a page. That means your IP address, browser type and version, device and screen size, referring page, the pages you open, and how long you stay. Our servers also record your IP address every time you submit a form. We use it to stop the same address from flooding us with submissions, and it is stored next to the form entry.

The third kind is what your browser keeps locally. When you unlock the EMI calculator we save a value called margam_tool_lead in your browser so you are not asked twice. It never leaves your device and clearing your browser storage removes it.

We do not ask for and do not want your passport, financial documents, caste or religion, biometric data, or health records through this website. If you send them anyway in a form message, we delete them once we have dealt with your query.

3. How We Use Your Information

We reply to what you asked about, follow up on it, and send you the guidance or loan plan you requested. If you gave us a phone number we may call or message you on WhatsApp about your enquiry.

We look at which pages and tools get used so we know what to build next and what to fix. We keep the IP address on form entries to block spam and repeated submissions.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to other consultancies, universities, agents, or lenders looking for leads. If a university or a bank ever needs your details as part of something you have asked us to do, we ask you first.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Your information passes through a small number of companies that run parts of this website. Each one only sees what it needs to do its job.

Vercel hosts the website and runs the code behind our forms. Every request to the site passes through their servers. Our database is a managed PostgreSQL service, and it holds the contact form and tool submissions described in section 2.

OpenAI processes AI assistant conversations. We use their gpt-4o-mini model through their business API. OpenAI states that content submitted through this API is not used to train their models. Tavily runs web searches when the assistant needs current information, and receives the search phrase rather than your identity.

Google Analytics and Google Ads receive site usage data under our tag identifiers G-W14S5FTWX4 and AW-17779211664. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights record page performance. Pages with embedded content load it from YouTube, Instagram, Google Maps, and Calendly, and those companies can see that your browser requested it.

Beyond that, we disclose information only when a law, court order, or government authority in India requires it, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim. If Margam is ever transferred to another owner, existing records would move with it, and we would post notice on this page before that happened.

5. Data Storage and Security

Form submissions are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. The connection between our servers and that database is encrypted, and the whole site is served over HTTPS with HSTS, so browsers refuse to load it over an unencrypted connection. Access to the database is limited to Jeevithram Mamidala and anyone he has specifically authorised to handle student records.

We keep contact and tool enquiries for 24 months from our last exchange with you, then delete them. Records connected to a student we have actually worked with are kept for 3 years after the engagement ends, because visa and admission matters can resurface long after the fact. Google Analytics data expires on Google's own schedule. AI assistant conversations are held by OpenAI under their retention terms and we do not keep our own copy of the transcript.

No website is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. We use current, standard protections and we are telling you plainly that they reduce risk rather than remove it. If a breach ever affects your data, we will contact you at the email address we hold and report it to the authorities as Indian law requires.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Email hello@yourmargam.com and ask for a copy of everything we hold on you, a correction, or complete deletion. We will confirm within 7 working days and finish within 30 days. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, usually by writing from the address you originally used, so that nobody else can request your file.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Once you do, we stop contacting you, though it also means we cannot continue any application work already underway. Every email we send has an unsubscribe option, and telling us to stop calling or messaging is enough.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you also have the right to nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated, and the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you rights over portability and objecting to processing, and we honour those requests on the same timeline.

For grievances, write to Jeevithram Mamidala at hello@yourmargam.com with the subject line Privacy Grievance. He handles these personally and replies within 30 days.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics sets cookies that count visitors and show which pages hold attention. Google Ads sets cookies that tell us when someone who clicked an advertisement later filled in a form. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights measure loading times. Embedded YouTube videos, Instagram posts, Google Maps, and Calendly booking frames set their own cookies when they load.

Browser settings let you block or delete all of these. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge each have the controls under privacy settings. Blocking them does not break the site. The EMI calculator remembers your unlock through browser storage rather than a cookie, so clearing cookies alone will not reset it. Clearing site data will.

We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals where your browser sends them.

8. Third-Party Links and Affiliate Disclosure

Our packing checklists link to products on Amazon. Margam is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Those links carry our Associates tag, jeevithram-21, and point to amazon.in. If you buy something after following one, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same as it would be otherwise. We recommend items because students have needed them, not because of what they pay, and Amazon has no say in what goes on the list.

Once you click through to Amazon, or to any bank, university, or booking site we link to, you are on their website under their privacy policy. We have no control over what they collect. Read their terms before entering anything sensitive.

9. Children's Privacy

This website is meant for people aged 18 and over who are planning postgraduate study. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats anyone under 18 in India as a child and requires verified parental consent before processing their data. We do not have a mechanism for that, so we simply do not accept submissions from minors. If you are under 18, have a parent or guardian contact us on your behalf. If we discover we have collected a minor's information, we delete it. A parent or guardian who believes their child has submitted something should write to hello@yourmargam.com and we will remove it.

10. International Data Transfers

Margam operates from India and most of our students are in India, but several of the companies listed in section 4 run servers elsewhere. Vercel, OpenAI, Google, and Tavily all process data outside India, mainly in the United States and Europe. Submitting information to this website means it may be handled in those countries, where privacy law differs from Indian law.

These transfers are permitted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which allows transfers to countries the Central Government has not restricted. We use established providers who publish their own safeguards and contractual protections for international transfers.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

When our practices change, this page changes with them and the date at the top moves. If a change materially affects what we collect or who receives it, we will email everyone whose address we hold before it takes effect.

The version published here is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
